Development of Multi-Disciplinary Green-BOM to Maintain Sustainability in Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems

The reconfigurable manufacturing system (RMS) appears to be eco-friendly while coping with rapidly changing market demands. However, there remains a lack of discussion or research regarding sustainability environment-friendly functions within RMS. In this study, the reconfiguration planning problem is introduced represent core issues Reconfiguration occurs depending on new demands conditions in company by reconfiguring machines, such as removing, adding, parts, giving considerable consideration arrangement known configurations Therefore, process always strongly connected cost, energy consumption, and, more importantly, data management. complexity reconfiguration, product variation, and development processes requires tools that are capable managing multi-disciplinary bill-of-material(BOM) providing better collaboration support for data/information tracking maintaining sustainability. This paper proposes green bill-of-material (MDG-BOM)—an improved Green-BOM concept—with an additional feature minimize emissions hazardous materials during development, well manage information across multiple disciplines process.
